Basic Job Description: This is a hands on, in the field working position. We are currently looking for Landscaping Supervisors who will be responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial and residential clients for KRM Landscaping including spring cleanups, pruning, planting, fall cleanups etc.

Major Duties:

  • Oversees, assists, and actively participates with the maintenance of client property which includes mulching, shrub pruning, planting, clearing, weed/debris control, etc.
  • Cares for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks or walls.
  • Maintains and repairs tools, equipment and structures using hand or power tools. Also maintains a tidy and organized work trailer.
  • Assists with other crews as needed, including mowing, hardscape, planting, etc. This includes but is not limited to mowing, stonework, planting, etc.
  • Supervises 2-8 landscape crew members to ensure proper completion of tasks. Is able to supervise more than one crew at multiple job sites if needed.
  • Provides horticulture improvement recommendations to client properties.
  • Provides proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, burial sites and other ground features.
  • Develops and maintains excellent customer service with current and potential clients.
  • Assists with snow removal, when necessary.
  • Requires crew members and self to adhere to safety standards and guidelines. Proactively suggests safety guidelines if the need arises.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.


  • A valid driver’s license is required. CDL/medical license a plus.
  • Ability to safely and effectively operate machinery.
  • Knowledge of trees, shrubs, perennials for zone 7 is required.
  • Experience with natural pruning and sheering is required.
  • Prior landscape experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of plant diseases and insects is preferred.
  • Knowledge of plants, hardscape, masonry, carpentry, excavating, grading, drainage and snow removal.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, present information and respond to questions, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to organize, multi-task, plan and set priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to help with production, scheduling and routing.
  • Ability to speak English is required, Spanish is helpful.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of MEC, inc.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to perform physical activities which require considerable use of arms, legs and moving your whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling various materials.
  • Ability to frequently move supplies up to fifty (50) pounds and occasionally lift weight consisting of one hundred (100) pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Regularly performing outside duties.
  • Interaction with staff and clients.
  • Exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Work conditions include but are not limited to, inadequate lighting, restricted movement, dirty environment, air contamination, extreme temperatures, intense noise and hazardous materials.
