Hydroseed and Erosion control Crew member/leader

KRM Landscaping, LLC. is currently seeking a highly motivated and professional individual to fill our Seeding & Erosion Control Crew Leader position.


· Ability to manage multi person crew

· Ensure company and project safety requirements are followed

· Ability to transport and support crews, speak to contractors, vendors, engineers, environmental control specialists, etc.

· Utilize construction equipment to complete projects

· Read and interpret project plans and specifications

· Report and communicate with companies Erosion Control Manager

· Assist in directing field personnel to meet schedule and production goals

· Help crews in the process of loading material

· Assist in the loading and mixing of material into hydro-seeder tank

· Operating hydroseeder on and off-road locations to complete job as described

· Ability to read and understand blueprints

· Install silt fence, blanket matting, stakes

· Performs daily preventative maintenance to equipment on truck such as cleaning and lubrication

· Assists in mulching of newly seeded area

· Interpret signals, stakes and marking to respect plan specifications

· Operate vehicle and equipment according to KRM Landscaping LLC safety rules and procedures

· Other duties as assigned


· Heavy equipment experience preferred (i.e. hydroseeders, straw blowers, mini excavator, skid steers, truck, and trailers)

· Able to bend and squat, position requires a lot of physical strength

· Able to work overtime as needed

· Tolerate various weather conditions

· Experience with managing multi-person crews


· Valid driver’s license and maintenance of a satisfactory driving record

· At least (3) years of proven experience in the seeding and erosion control field

· CDL Class ‘A’ or ‘B’ a plus but not necessary)

Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers and employees.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as volume, area, circumference, measurements, proportions and pressures.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl; and to talk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and to smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move 50 pounds and must occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds, depending on the needs of the specific work unit. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibrations throughout the day. The noise level is usually loud but may occasionally be very loud.
